Read the first three chapters of Durwood’s upcoming thriller, Dear Durwood, here.

Durwood Oak Jones is an ex-marine who considers requests for “injustices in need of attention,” by post to Solider of Fortune magazine.

He lives in West Virginia with his dog, Sue-Ann, in a house he built by hand. When not battling injustice, he walks the sorghum or fishes with his neighbor, Crole.

Durwood is a widower. His wife Mabel, also a soldier, was killed by terrorists in Tikrit. Their son died at Miramar, training to be a fighter pilot.

Neither death was just.

Durwood avenged his wife’s death in Tikrit, obliterating the terror cell against his C.O.’s orders. For this, he received a court-martial from the United States government.

Down the road another few years, he met Quaid Rafferty. The rest is history.
